Anushka was born in Mangalore, and her mother tongue is Tulu. After completing graduation in Computer Applications(BCA), she was not interested in pursuing a career software industry and instead wanted to get into the fitness world. Then she became a yoga instructor. Puri Jagannadh happened to see Anushka through another director and she got selected for Super. 2008 has two hits with Chintakayala Ravi & Souryam in her bag and she started 2009 with a mega hit film Arundhati (film).[1] Currently Anuska is acting with Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay in Vettaikkaran.
