After a long time , mammooty is coming back with a Police officer. His recent movies were not much good and those movies didn't do anything to his stardom. Now He is coming with a family movie,Daddy Cool. The movie Daddy Cool is considered to be a hilarious family flick, directed by the debutante Aashiq Abu.
In the film Daddy Cool, Mammootty plays the role of Antony Simon, a Crime Branch Circle inspector in the movie. He prefers to free himselves from official duties to spend time with his eight year old cricket crazy son, even though he is a brilliant officer.Mammooty also became a cricket mania following his son and he often listens to cricket commentary while on duty by converting his wireless into a radio. But Antony's wife, Annie is however irked and dejected by the growing laziness of her husband who was a meticulous officer during his younger days.
According to Antony, he feels that his world has changed since he turned a father to ever mischievous Aadi. The adventures and attitudes of this father and son who share a heavy bond between themselves, makes a sea change after a chance encounter with a cricketer named Sreekanth, the first Malayalee to cement his place in the national cricket team.
The movie which is being shot at Kochi and nearby places is cinematographed by Samir Thahir, who hit big time with his work for the movie ‘Big B’. Debutante director Aashiq Abu who was a former assistant to Kamal, also scripts for the movie. Richa Pallod, the model and heroine of movies like Shajahan appear as Annie in the movie. Master Dhananjay dons the role of Aadi while Govind Padmasuriya, the hero of Adayalangal is cricketer Sreekanth. Also in the cast area Bijumenon, Ashish Vidyarthy, Vijayaraghavan, Raadhika and Saikumar.
‘Daddy Cool’ will feature songs by Biji Bal in the lyrics of Santhosh Varma, Anil Panachooran and Venugopal, Produced by Ananya films in association with Marikar films, ‘Daddy Cool’ will be ready for release by this July.
