Bhavana had been earlier roped in to do a small role in the AMMA film Twenty:20. But now she returns to the film replacing Meera Jasmine. Meera's role in the film was a pivotal role, as she was to be cast opposite Dileep. This role will now be enacted by Bhavana.
Meera refused the movie due to alleged clashes with her Telugu film dates. This even led to her having problems with AMMA. After a lot of heroine-hunting, Bhavana was finalized for the role.
