Mammootty starrer, on the valiant prince who fought a thrilling battle against the British and killed himself before being captured, has generated tremendous expectations even before the shooting started. The film, directed by Hariharan, will hit 560 screens all over India on October 2 in its Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and English versions.
Before the film gets underway, Mohanlal will explain the role of Pazhassi Raja in the Indian awakening against the British Raj. The film, produced by Gokulam Gopalan, has been made at a budget exceeding Rs 20 crore, say some sources. Painstaking research has been undertaken by 'Jnanpith' awardee MT Vasudevan Nair to sketch the life and times of Pazhassi Raja. Hariharan, MT and Mammootty have earlier joined hands to script another period epic 'Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha' and the film was a blockbuster.
Music by Ilaiyaraja and sound recording by Resool Pookkutty will add to the grandeur of the film.
