Mohanlal, the superstar of Malayalam film industry has been choosen for this years Sree Chithira Tirunal award which is instituted by the Sree Chithira Tirunal Trust in memory of the erstwhile King of Travancore. The earlier recipients of the award includes agricultural scientist M S Swaminathan, ISRO chairman G Madhavan Nair and National Security advisor M K Narayanan.
The award which was first announced in 2006 is in honour of individuals who have made exceptional contributions in art, science, literature, medicine, education and cinema. The sree Chithira Thirunal award carries a cash bag of Rs One Lakh and a citation.
This new award will be another feather in the crown of the superstar. At the same time mohanlal's UnnaiPol Oruvan is doing some good business in the Box offices not only in Kerala, but also in Tamil Nadu, North India and USA, UK etc.. This will make Mohanlal more proud.
