It is official that Sun Pictures has confirmed that their Dhanush- Taapsee, Vetrimaran directed Aadukalam will be a Pongal 2011 release.

Earlier the film was announced as a December 10 release. The audio launched recently is slowly becoming a hit.

Sun Pictures have announced Aadukalam as a Pongal release in today's Tamil newspapers. 

Dhanush has tweeted that his "dream film" will be a Pongal release. 

Last Pongal too Dhanush had Kutty releasing for the festival.

Ishqiya a extremely recital oriented and each artist from the cast is outstanding. Undoubtedly this is amongst Vidya Balan’s best works. Adil Hussain performed a strong negative lead. Salman Shahid (artist in Kabul Express) is also an appealing personality and To see Naseeruddin Shah convey in a hunky role is a enchantment. Arshad Warsi is showing his rudiments and this is his career-best act.

Story of Ishqiya is based on two rouges Khalujaan (Naseeruddin Shah) and Babban (Arshad Warsi) both are dodging from their boss Mushtaq (Salman Shahid). Both have no option to go ,so they look for place of safety in a friend’s house and in its place they meet his widow Krishna (Vidya Balan).

One word. POWERFUL. Let's hear a round of applause for a man who has taken much of the brunt in the recent past. RGV manages to catch you by the collar and shake you out of your wits. RANN is a powerfully etched movie, enacted with purpose by every member of the cast. It begins with the click of a remote and ends with another. A creative way to use the much-abused device within the screenplay.

Ramu takes care, to first craft each and every character, and then limit their roles within that framework. Not one character gets out of frame or does what is not expected of him or her. Truth is what we all want to hear and see but is truth what we actually hear and see on television, where TRPs are all that matters to channel bosses and 'Breaking News' the need of the hour? It does not matter how the news get 'broken'. This is what Ramu is trying to expose on screen with RANN; the greed to be No 1.

Truth is all what Vijay Harsvardhan Malik (Amitabh Bachchan), head honcho of a television channel, is interested in. It does not mater if a rival channel headed by his ex-employee is forging ahead in the TRP race. He will not bow down on his principles. Viewer interest is first for him. His son, Jay, who has returned from the US, is all keen to see his dad change the way he thinks and catch up in the TRP race. His lust for the race draws him into an evil net at the centre of who is a corrupt politician who one day wants to be Prime Minister, Mohan Pandey (Paresh Rawal), and his own brother-in-law, Naveen Shankalaya (Rajat Kapoor).

Together they frame a story on how the current PM Digvijay Hooda (Alok Nath) is the one behind the recent bomb blast by getting his PA to speak at gunpoint. They record the shot and release it to Jay who impresses his father to play it before other channels get the news.

Purab Shastri (Ritesh Deshmukh) has grown up watching Harshvardhan on television and has been inspired to take up journalism because of him. Purab lands a job in his channel but is soon traumatized by the recent news. He begins his own investigation and stumbles on some startling facts, which he presents to Vijay Harshvardhan towards the end. The truth stares him hard in the face, but Harshvardhan does not buckle. He decides to bare the truth. And the truth sets him free!

Amitabh Bachchan and Paresh Rawal are the two pillars on which RANN stands. One an upright individual, the other, corrupt to the core. A menacing performance by Rawal. Amitabh lends his own charisma to the character, which identifies with the viewer. Sudeep as Jay is awesome. A complete actor. Ritesh surprises with his act of a besotted journalist out to uncover the truth while Rajat Kapoor lends that eerie charm. Mohnish Behl and Suchitra Krishnamoorthy both get roles, which are as powerful and central to the scheme of things. Neetu Chandra is proving to be quite a talent.

The background score elevates key scenes to lock you in your seats. Run to the cinemas. This one is a gripping saga

Manchu Manoj who is known for his variety performances has now arrived with yet another venture and this time, it is said to be another offbeat love venture. How different was it and whether Manoj is able to make a mark or not, let us see
Story:
Set on the backdrop of Chittoor, there is a political/faction feud between Seshadri Naidu (Jayaprakash) and Mahendra Naidu (Ahuti Prasad). It gets violent so Mahendra Naidu gets all his relatives under his home so that they are not harmed.
They call Ajay (Manoj) as well but none of them like him due to a flashback of his father. Ajay meets Girija (Sheena), his ‘maradhalu’ and love sparkles.
Meanwhile, things get into further complications between both Naidus so Ajay decides it is time to resolve this.
How does he do that and whether he is successful or not forms the rest of the story…
Performances:
Manchu Manoj: He is the life and soul of the movie. With an energetic performance, he did his bit but then his face looks exhausted and drained. Imitation of his father Mohan Babu was deliberately evident.
Sheena: She has a sweet face and is fresh. Though she has an oomph filled body, it is her baby face that takes away the attention and she provided the required visual feast in songs and did her bit well for a debut attempt.
Ahuti Prasad:
Not much for him in terms of performance and he could carry it off easily without a hitch.
Jayaprakash Reddy: He must have done this kind of role a hundred times by now so not much for him as well. Instead, there is no regular comedy from him that is usually his trademark in villainy.
Others:
Raghu Babu, Brahmanandam gave their share of laughs, Sunil was okay, Subbaraju and Supreeth did their bit as required. Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao was brief, the man doing Ahuti Prasad’s brother’s character has a strong screen presence, Banerjee, Kasi Vishwanath, master Bharath, Vennela Kishore, Telangana Sakunthala and the rest of them breezed in and out.

Interesting Dialogues/ Scenes:

• Manoj (with heroine): ‘Naaku rendu vishayalante chaala ishtam. Okati nuvvu…inkoti scenes lu kattirinchani englisu cinema..” (this dialogue has got huge response in theater)
• MS Narayana (as Muslim peer): pillavaadidi ekkada undi?

Sunil: pillavaadi daggare undandi (this also has got situational pun and brought loud laughs)

• Manoj’s action scenes are impressive
• The fight scene composed at water point is technically strong and emotionally in depth that pulled the attention of audiences strongly.
• Master Bharat’s performance
• Vennela Kishore did well but his role could have got extended

Analysis:
The movie takes off on a mediocre tone and runs pretty average in first half. The hook is not established with clarity till the interval. The momentum picks up in second half and the real comedy starts driving the narration. MS Narayana’s episode pumps in some comedy and the eventual flow goes with inspiration of films like Ready, Dhee etc.
The attempt to make a hilarious action entertainer is laudable but the execution part has suffered some ups and downs with screenplay. The dialogues are also not up to the conviction (especially the Brahmin Villain’s dialogues in climax has got no clarity and the language has gone out of bound suddenly) and at times failed to grip the interest levels of audiences.
This bumpy ride comes to an end with first half and second half takes to the climax smoothly.
On a whole, it’s a movie for audiences those come to theaters without any expectations.

STORY OF YUGANIKI OKKADU IN BRIEF

When a far-famed archeologist (Prathap Pothan) vanishes across the lands, which was once ruled by Chola Dynasty, Anitha (Reema Sen) and her group of officials are appointed by Government to unravel the mystery. Archeologist’s daughter Dr. Lavanya (Andrea) too joins the defense troupe to carry out the mission. Strapping group of men lead by Sugumaran (Karthi) is employed to assist them.

The journey starts off with cheerful moments at the cruise at the guys chill out boozing and tripping their light foot now and then. Let’s not forget Sugumaran, whose unrestrained one-liners are sure to tickle the funny bones. As the group shores on the mysterious island, weird scenarios starts striking and somehow the trio Sugu-Anitha-Lavanya reach the untouched lands where the archeologist disappeared.

But, the actual intentions of the quest in unraveled during second half with unlooked entities of Chola dynasty showing up.

What follows next is a series of mysteries, which indeed leads to terrific results.

ANALYSIS OF THE FILM

Karthi does a wonderful job with his ostentatious characterization. On pars, his abrupt change of shades in the final hours is praiseworthy. Reema Sen gets a meaty role. However her lip-sync turns to be inappropriate at many occasions. Andrea sleepwalks through her role and looses her prominence very often.

There’s whole lot of discontinuities spotted now and then. Watch Karthi trying to flirt with Andrea over the cruise, his face has dark tone and as getting down towards Reema, he looks so rejuvenated with fair complexion. The way this trio head through the shadows to shake off from sand dunes is an excellent piece of creativity. Perhaps, the pre-interval sequence after “Un Mela Aasadhan’ is a surprising act. Apparently, Karthi fans would go restless as he hardly appears over the screens. Yes, it’s all about realms of Parthiban and Reema for the next 45minutes and Karthi gets back to the picture patently during penultimate sequences.

Musical score by G.V. Prakash is spellbinding. The young lad strikes off with a fantabulous background score. “Un Mela Aasadhan’ is a special treat for the gold rush over lyrics and glamorous dimensions. Ramji’s cinematography is top-notching but some of his best visuals are diminished with lots of CG works. If Selva had added a melodic-song, (either “Maalai Neram’ or “Indha Paadhai’) it would have been pleasant brush up for audiences.

With a longer duration of 200 minutes, the second half will likely develop restlessness yearning for the climax portion. As mentioned earlier, Selva could’ve picked an alternative climax instead of “open ending’.

The story of the movie “Striker” revolves around the time, when the Babri Mosque was destructed on 6th Dec, 1992.

This film is based on the theme of not divide & rule. It tries to, make the harmony between the relations of Hindus & Muslims, inspite of knowing the terror which is going at present.

Surya (Siddharth) & Zaid (Ankur Vikal) are the best friends, from their childhood, put their best effort to bring harmony among the masses.

Malvani, is the real hero of the film, & the two friends were brought up by him, but both the boys wish to be apart from him.

The area which is shown in the film, depicts the life of Mumbai, & says its details.

Surya was bought up in the surroundings which has cheap interiors of the claustrophobic lodging, & is prevailed with poverty, but has ample love to give. It also shows those vicious path which leads to the world of murder, & crime.

Even though Surya realizes his ability in a young age at carrom, at first he aims to locate life ahead of the world of crime, terror & carrom clubs that dot Malvani.

He wants to rid away from the world of confusion, & try to earn money.

But when a manager cheats him of his well-deserved money, he’s enforced to discover sustenance in the carrom club of Jaleel (Aditya Pancholi. Jaleel wishes to take benefit of the communal tension widespread in the town to cooperate his local politics.

ROCK ON rockzzzzzzzzz........!

Finally the film 'ROCK ON' has got into the theatres. The surprising fact is that the most awaited film of the year doesn’t feature a ‘Khan’,’Kapoor’or ‘Kumar’ . All that hype with relatively new actors and a director whose previous film ‘Aryan’ was a wash out.

The synopsis can well defined as the journey of Aditya(Farhan),Joe Mascarenhas (Arjun Rampal) , Rob(Luke Kenny) and K.D.(Purab Kohli) who want to see their band ‘MAGIK’ and it’s music at the peak. The passionate bunch travel through various stages of life to keep their ‘MAGIK’ alive and trust me , what a journey it is!

Director Abhishek Kapoor firstly brings in a story that really hooks you in especially when it’s the journey of the underdogs and when it’s got a lot to do with music. Abhishek ‘Gattu’ Kapoor fuses in the right blend of actors to carry each role with a certain amount of conviction. The narrative transitions, the friendship, the emotions, the alleys, the instruments…. You are jut drawn into all of it.

The narrative takes off very much like Farhan’s directorial debut ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ and when you would like to believe it’s a repeat of it all, you are taken aback. You are left with the same feeling you had years back when ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ was around. What surprises you here is that there is no Aamir , Saif or Akshaye.

If ‘DCH’ was remembered for Farhan’s directorial skills, this one too is headed a long way for his acting credentials. And of course not to mention, for his share behind the music of the film. Farhan excels right through the film. To say that he was better than the rest will be absolutely unfair in a film that highlights teamwork.

Farhan delivers with ease and with a great amount of conviction. The transition in character from one phase of life to another is not just brought about in his attire but very well with his body language. Farhan’s unconventional voice works in his favour and the myth that a hero should have a heavy baritone is done away with. The sequence where Farhan breaks out into an argument with his wife (Prachi Desai) and talks about the compromises of life brings forth brilliant dialogue delivery. Farhan often reminds you of Aamir Khan from ‘DCH’ and is in no respect less competitive.

The next highlight of the film is Joe Mascarenhas/Arjun Rampal. This is no doubt Arjun’s best film till date and wonder whether you’ll ever see Arjun in such a splendid role. Arjun carries the lead guitarist, rockstar look with ease. The complexity, the inner turmoil, the passion for music is brought out so well with the moustache embedded Arjun moving around from place to place with the guitar. Arjun delivers his lines really well especially in arguments with his wife(Shahana Goswami) and the scene where he reminds the band of its rules and gets into a spat.

Luke Kenny as Rob is another revelation. Many often wondered whether Luke ever spoke Hindi and here he comes out with a fine convincing performance. Luke often acts as the backbone of the band and binds the characters well enough. His scenes with ‘Anu Malik’ are funny but realistic enough.

Purab Kohli as the ‘Killer Drummer’ brings in all that humour and all that true ‘masti’ associated with any band. He is so full of expressions and entertains you right through. He brings in those smiles even through the emotional sequences.

Shahana Goswami comes in as a revelation of talent. For her debut she does extremely well. The shades in her character from the Joe’s girlfriend to his wife plagued by problems of running a household are carried out real well.

Prachi Desai does a very decent job as the soft spoken wife of Farhan. She speaks a lot through her smile.

Koel Purie is just apt.

One person who deserves much credit is cinematographer Jason West. His job has been splendid right through. The handheld camera movements make you feel as if you were present right through the performance. The lighting is just another treat. The practice sessions, the well light cobweb filled alleys, the emphasis on the instruments-simply brilliant.

The music by Shankar Ehsaan Loy was a rage much prior to the realease. The film just enhances it even more and don’t be surprised if you are keep humming tracks like ‘Tum Ho Toh’( which hasn’t featured in the promotion of the film ) once you are done with this flick. Great Job by Shankar Ehsaan and Loy! Kudos Javed Saab!

To sum it up Abhishek Kapoor strikes the right cord with the audiences and the character are so well defined and crafted. No character overshadows the other and the ‘Magik’ is brought alive. Many believe this flick is just for the metros; well it’s for anyone who has experienced the warmth of friendship, love and got a passion for music.

2 Harihar Nagar initial reports!

Yesterday To Harihar Nagar reached theatres with great expectations.The movie is directed by Lal.It is a sequel to In Harihar Nagar which was directed by the duo Siddique-Lal in 1990.

Mukesh, Siddique, Asokan and Jagadeesh are the heroes in this film also. Lena, Rohini, Laksmi Rai, Geetha Vijayan, Rakhi and Fabi are in main roles. Under the banner of Lal Creations, Lal and Venu Gopal are producing the film.

The first half of the film is superb.There were many comedy scenes in the first half.Jagadeesh and mukesh were really rocking in the first half.Second half is little slow than the first half and have some senti scenes.The climax is suspense and there were some twists in the movie.Any way it is watchable movie and i prefer you to watch in the theatre.

The satellite right of the film has sold to Surya TV for an amount of Rs. One crore twenty lakhs.
The movie will be a sure superhit of 2009.

Review : Sagar Alias Jacky Reloaded!

Sagar Alias Jacky Reloaded ,which is the 21st century version of eighties superhit movie Irupatham Nootandu release last week.The film released in 102 theatres and run more than 500 shows,which is an all time record.Also it breaks the initial collection record of 20-20.

An underworld don who operates internationally, Sagar Alias Jacky had to deal with the likes of Naina (Suman) and Goa based Rozario brothers who want to do away with Sagar.But each time Sagar with his fearlessness and brilliance in plotting, outplays them. The film starts off very interestingly when Indhu(Shobhana), the daughter of the state chief minister (Nedumudi Venu) calls Sagar to save her husband Manu (Manoj K Jayan) from the clutches of Rozario brothers.

Sagar gets into action and releases him with little fisticuffs. This mission lands him into further troubles, which lead to a chain of gang war, deceit and shooting .To engage the more time of the movie , arrives the heroine Aarathy Menon (Bhavana), a savvy channel reporter, who starts to report on Sagar but predictably falls for his gamut of presentations as a guardian angel. Undoubtedly, the movie is the most slick and stylishly made one which seldom tries to cling on to a plot. Often we have pointless and constant changes of direction to the story, to set the stage for potentially entertaining or nerve-wracking set pieces that rarely show up. And with plenty of men with differing shades of villainy, this dark thriller fails to create characters that have enough roots for any morals.

Mohanlal who is in almost every frame after his introduction, manages to salvage the film by a considerable extent, even though his character is too unidimensional, offering no complex scenes for the versatile actor to cherish.

With veteran S N Swamy's screenplay and dialogues that fails to live up to the best of the visuals, the movie often looks like an overcooked meal '' - which give the star's fans space for wolf-whistles for a punch line or a meticulously conceived entry shots at regular intervals. And in fact, there is little beyond that.

Most others in the cast have delivered brilliant performances. The name of Sampath who appears as Rozario definitely needs a special mention. Amal Neerad has also brought in the best work from his technicians including the editor Vivek Harsha and art and costume departments. There is hardly any frame in the film that is not color corrected and toned.

Amal as a cinematographer has also played his part to make the movie better, with his brilliant visual aesthetics. He seems to have a special penchant for wide and low angles and hardly lit interiors, and loud and contrasting BG scores (that is evident from his debut film Big B).

Gopi Sundar has worked hard on the rerecording and his songs too suit the films moods, but the Lal - Bhavana song comes up as a speed breaker.Even though the movie designed in the assembly line of stylized gangster movies of Bollywood, lacks a consistent flow in narratives and is a little slimmer in content, Amal Neerad definitely needs to be appreciated for trying some thing of this sort of visual splendour for the Kerala Audiences. Considering the quality of movies churned out in Mollywood these days,''Sagar Alias Jacky, Reloaded '', must be definitely promoted for the quality of making, rather than for its thematic content.

Conclusion is that SAJ Reloaded is that it is the most malayalam stylish film ever made.But it have no story.It will be a sure hit movie.Already the film gets 1.33 distributor share in four days.

Review : IG!

Suresh Gopi's latest movie IG reached Theatres last week.The movie Opened in around 50 theatres all across kerala. Suresh Gopi is back with his favourite police role in the movie IG. The movie was Scripted and directed by B Unnikrishnan, the movie is an action thriller.

The film story is around the terrorist activities going on in kerala.In this film Suresh Gopi is doing the role of IG, Inspector General, who is on to give a final blow to the terrorism activities in the state.Suresh Gopi is Durga Prasad, the firebrand inspector general, now in a punishment posting as IG traffic in the state capital. A big blast in the city market and a murder of a home secretary Paul Joseph (Sreeraman) inside the secretariat premises brings in the protagonist back as the head of Anti Terrorist Squad, which enjoy unlimited power, with no interference from the top, to clear off the terrorist links and solve the murder mystery.

Suresh Gopi, though a little jaded is engaging enough to make you sit, till the final reels. He appears reasonably fit and charismatic, though in the same role, the umptenth time. Govind Padmasuriya who plays Durga's brother and Anaida Nair shows glimpses of star elements in them. Lakshmi, Vijayaraghavan and Jagathy Sreekumar are wasted in insignificant roles. .Rajan P Dev also managed to credibly present the man on hot seat, than going for another mimicry.

IG ends up as another cop movie without any thrills or real points to make about its premises. The main attraction of the movie is the climax which is a super suspense.Without any hard core emotions about patriotism and anti terrorism, ‘IG’ is destined to end up as a downer or just another inclusion into the star's long list of cop movies.Surely the film IG will be an aveage hit.

Suriya is back with ‘Ayan’, and how! As a super hero, a complete contrast from the real life inspired ‘Varanam Aayiram’, his previous film. Suryas latest flick Ayan reached theatres last week and getting good responses.As per the initial reports the fil will be a superhit.Thamanna is the heroine of Suriya in the movie.Produced by AVM and presented by Sun Pictures, the movie has magical moments enthralling audience.

A macho-man story, ‘Ayan’ is a perfect summer entertainer. Though the storyline is familiar and oft-seen in the past, the pacy narration and captivating visuals provide the necessary pep to the film.In this film Suriya, proved his credentials as a versatile actor doing varied roles untill recently, has taken a litmus test of doing a mass commercial hero in ‘Ayan’.

The striking feature of the movie is Suriya’s amazing screen-presence. He is right there delivering his best. Be it romance, action or comedy, Suriya is at his crackling form serving the very basic purpose of purpose of entertaining the masses.In the film Suriya is doing the role of Deva a typical youth.His mother (Renuka) aspires that her son would join government service. Pursuing his post graduate course, Deva instead works for Das (Prabhu), who runs a smuggling racket.

A shrewd Deva is a carrier of smuggled articles bringing from abroad everything including pirated CDs of newly-released movies to diamonds without getting caught by customs officials. However Kamalesh (Akashdeep Saigal), who runs a similar racket in the locality, starts to give nightmare for both Das and Deva. Keen to topple them, Kamalesh goes to any extremes. Das entrusts Deva with a job to smuggle diamonds from Congo. Intervenes Kamalesh. He sends his man to make Deva’s mission unsuccessful. But eventually he fails. Meanwhile, Deva falls in love with Yamuna (Tamannah), sister of Chitti’s (Jagan), who also works for Das.

Their rivalry hots up and a turn of events leads to Kamalesh bumping off Das. Deva goes on revenge mode. They sort out their enmity in the barren lands of Congo and a surprise awaits Suriya in the form of Narcotics Bureau chief Parthiban (Ponvannan) after he returns to the country.

Suriyas onscreen chemistry with Tamannah is good. Amazing to see Suriya performing acrobatic stunt sequences, who has been hitherto considered as a 'performing' actor. His dedication and involvement could be seen in every frame.Tamannah is equally appealing. Though she has no major role to play besides a couple of songs including one in alien land, she is convincing. Prabhu as Das is apt fit for the role.

I prefer you to watch the movie in theatres.

Review : Bhagyadevatha!

Jayaram's latest malayalam release ‘Bhagyadevatha’ opened in seventy centres yesterday. The movie scripted and directed by Sathyan Anthikkad has Jayaram and Kanika in the lead roles. And as per the expectations, the movie is creating good word of mouth from its premiere show viewers, who expects it to become another super hit.The music department is handled by Ilayaraja.

Satyan Anthikad does it again through his latest movie bhagyadevatha.In this film his main focus here is dowry and he has made it into an engaging movie, by an honest exploration of human emotions.The story happens in a Kuttanadan village where the protagonist, Benny (Jayaram), runs the franchisee of a local cable TV channel. He is a nice young man and an ambitious one as well, who has set some big dreams to achieve in his life.

Benny soon realizes that to get rich, the shortcut will be to get married and the dowry will fetch him all the fortunes. He marries Daisy (Kaniha) with that in mind, but his plans fall flat when he doesn't get the promised dowry.It is a simple story which is a sweet and moving experience for every section of the viewers. It moves on predictable lines, yes, especially in the second half and it is certainly not the director's best film yet, but still it succeeds to unleash a refreshing charm.

Kaniha looks convincing as a Christian girl from a rural background and though her character speaks less, her mannerisms and expressions does the talking. Be it the hugely talented KPAC Lalitha, who plays Benny's mother, Narain in a cameo, Innocent, Nedumudi Venu, Mamukkoya and the girls who played Jayaram's sisters or even the fishing boat owner, they all have put in their best efforts to make their parts look perfect.

In the end, Bhagyadevatha turns out to be a delightful experience and is a small film with a big heart! Here is one film that you can watch with your family and feel like spending some quality time together on a worthy trip. Considering the stuff that is coming on screen these days, that itself is something to cheer about!

according to my view Bhagyadevatha is a good movie at will be a hit.I prefer you to watch in theatre rather than seeing it in TV.

Review : Malayalam Movie Bhagavan!

Malayalam Movie Bhagavan is the latest release on Super Star Mohanlal. The first report of the move Bhagavan says that the movie is below avarage. Songs in the movie are really irritating, also the the songs are just injected in the movie with out any need. Another negative is the repeated scenes, that is some scenes are repeated many time in the movie without any realtion.

The plot of the movie is that some terrerists are entering a hospital on the day of the delivery of the wife of Kerala Home Minister. Mohanlal is a doctor in that hospital. On of the terrerist take the child of minister and Mohanlal finds it. Terrerists wants to get one of them who was arrested and kept in police custody. Mohanlal manages to solve this tragic situation as seen in some Rajanikanth movies. The dialogues in the movie is very weak and poor in meaning. There are lot of stupidity in the movie.

The concept of the movie was to make a movie against the terrerisom just like we have seen in the Bollywood movie A Wednesday. But the way of presentation and direction is very bad. Viewers are actually iritated by the songs and its placing in the movie. Certain scenes in the movie are shown again and again making the viewers boring.

In short the movie Bhagavan is below average. Watching the movie will be same as wasting 2 hours.

Review: Ivar Vivahitharayal!

Ivar Vivahitharayal is the latest malayalam movie which features Jayasuriya and Bhama in main roles.The movie released last day and as per reports the movie failed to impress all types of audience. Here is the review of the movie Ivar Vivahitharayal. The movie is directed by debutant director Saji Surendran.

The movie Ivar Vivahitharayal contains no good story , direction and almost all other parts were ok. While trying to give the message to the auddience, the movie resembles and goes like a Mega Sireal in the theatre. Vivek (Jayasurya) is an MBA student and the only son of a lawyer-couple, played by Siddique and Rekha. The parents, who live separately in adjacent apartments though not legally divorced, are stunned when their son asks to get him married soon after his exams are over.

He gets married to Kavya (Bhama), a radio jockey who has just lost her job and their problems start right from day one.Kavya finds it difficult to adjust with her husband, as he is too immature! To add to her woes, he is too close to his friends even after their marriage, especially to Tessy (Samvritha Sunil). Soon there is tension happening between them and the parents as well.

As he announces towards the end, it was an attempt to bring his parents close that Vivek tied the knot in the first place, but he perhaps opted for the wrong partner!Now, with its rather dramatic situations, amateurish script and unimpressive performances, the film is not perhaps intended to be taken too seriously. Both Jayasurya and Bhama behave as if they have no definite idea about the nature of their characters.

No wonder, it is comedian Suraj Venjarammood and to some extent, Samvritha Sunil, who eventually come out with the most impressive performances in the film. The direction is good.The negatives of the movie are Weak dialogues and poor songs. According to me, Ivar Vivahitharyal is a watchable one for time pass. I rate it as an average movie.

Review : Ivar Vivahitharaayal - Not Much Good!

Ivar Vivahitharaayal is the latest movie of Jayasurya. The movie is not very impressive neither a different story. The movie is completely dealing with family issues. But I think this one is much better than the recently released movie in malayalam movie industry,

The movie has Jayasuriya as Vivek Ananthan (Jayasuriya), an MBA student who is throwing all petty tantrums to get married at the earliest. Being the only son of a lawyer-couple(played by Siddique and Rekha)living separately in adjacent apartments, he finds it increasingly difficult to convince them but some how he manages to get them agreed to get his name listed in the matrimony services. Kavya, an ambitious hot tongued radio jockey, who has a problem with her star sings and has just lost her job in an FM, is there by forced to get herself into marriage with Vivek. The movie follows to tells the fate of two immensely immature souls, who has to fight it out to discover the meaning of family and consideration between themselves. Adding to their issues are also depicted the envy and doubts that arise in Kavya over her husband's very free relationships with, his friends from childhood including Tresa played by Samvrutha Sunil). This movie is definitely not as tedious as some other so called 'comedies', that have robbed us of valuable hours of our lives in the recent past. But with limited characters it still gives an air of an episode of a television sitcom, stretched to feature length.

New malayalam movie PuthiyaMugham Reviews!

PuthiyaMugham is the latest malayalam movie which is released yesterday. The movie features Prithviraj, Bala, Meeranandhan and priyamani in the main cast. The movie is directed by Deepan who debuted in malayalam film industry through this film. The first thing i want to say about this movie is that it has no story in it.

The movie starts with the introduction of Prithviraj as a musician. The plot of the movie is based on the engineering study of Prithviraj and incidents caused in his life in the college. Prithviraj is doing the role of Krishnakumar , basically a bhramin. Meera Nandhan and Priyamani are the heroines of prithviraj in the movie.Bala who is the rich guy in college likes to marry Priyamani who is also his family friend. Priyamani is a fresher and in Krishna Kumar’s class. Like many other girls, she too gets attracted to him and gives him special care. Bala feels insulted and tries to regain her.

The story takes a backseat here the rest are all kicks, punches and slaps. It is at this portion Puthiya Mugham becomes unique. The director takes effort to give each fight an individuality which bestows beauty. Fans call him the upcoming Megastar. Fighting machine Prithviraj proves to be the Numero Uno angry youth in Malayalam Industry.

Bala has good role. This will be the second role for Bala to gain him some attention in Malayalam. Earlier with his character in Big B he pocketed major roles in more than twenty films, now Puthiya Mugam will provide him roles till his next hit. Meera Nandan who is also making her presence felt in Tamil is eye candy as the lover of hero. She has the look, Color and flavor of a natural malayali girl.

Sudheesh and Jagadheesh are funny at times and have managed not to overact. Lots of young artists acted in this film and have done their part well. Script by Sindhuraj has got flow. The hard work in pre production stage is visible. The characters are natural. But people cannot identify intensity of their motive. Each action and dialogue is backed by a reason. The film does not have big dialogues or preachy speeches.

Watching Puthiya Mugham is like viewing a Tamil film with the sensibility of Malayalam. Each scene is taken richly. Scores of people are managed and were filled in frame. Camera by Bharani K. Dharan sets the tensity. Action director Analarassu needs special mention. Editing by Samjith MHD is good. Graphics, Background are all in tune with cinema. Couple of songs seems to be hit.

Technically this film has surpassed most Malayalam films. Puthiya Mugham can’t boast much, but will punch your face, roll you in floor and slug you to wall. Deepan is proving film is more visual orientated than tailored to story. It is high time a through out action film has sold tickets in counter. As they say in poster Puthiya Mugham is for the youth and this will be a new beginning.

It's not a must watchable movie and surely will become an average hit.

Review : Bhramaram!

Mohanlal - Blessy teams latest movie Bhramaram reached about 80 theatres on last day. The movie is the fifth venture from Blessy and he again proves his ability to tell a story in a natural way. The movie features Mohanlal, Bhumika, Suresh Menon and Lakshmi Gopalaswamy in main casts. The movie contains a simple story, but has a lots of emotions, fabulous frames and some haunting moments. But the main thing is Mohanlal- our lalettan's mindblowing performance in the film.

The story starts when Sivankutty (Mohanlal) reaches the apartment of his schoolmate, Unni (Suresh Menon). Though Unni fails to remember him clearly, the stranger, who introduces himself as Jose, becomes friendly with his kid. The mood takes some abrupt turns from then on as his real identity is revealed.Unni, now a successful share broker, and his close pal Alex, a doctor, studied in school with Jose (well, we're not playing spoilsports and revealing more), who is now a jeep driver. To their horror, Unni and Alex soon realise that Jose is not his real name. They were all part of a tragic incident and now ‘Jose’ has come there with an agenda.

The film has its moments for sure, but things could definitely have been more effective with a taut script. Though Mohanlal puts in his heart and soul to get into the shoes of his character, the supporting cast lets him down big time. What makes the film click is its stunning climax. Bhoomika, as Mohanlal's wife, and the child actor who play their child fail to make any impact. Some of the characters played by Bollywood comedian Suresh Menon, Bhoomika and Lakshmi Gopalaswamy could have been more effective with better dubbing. Muralikrishnan, who plays Alex, has nice features to suit his role and he does a nice job as well.

All the other castd did extremely supported Mohanlal and did justice to the characters. Other good things about the movie are good direction, camera work is excellent, hearty songs, gud picturisations and mohan sitaras excellent music. Bhramaram is a must watch movie else you will miss the strong performance of the complete actor Mohanlal. Once again he proved he is the best in malayalam through this character.

Verdict : GOOD

Now, you have a collection of surprise scenes which makes the film interesting.

REVIEW: During these times when the culprit’s name will be known to the whole world after the premiere show, the process of investigation will be what the world will look forward to. Madhu and Swami are experts in handling such gripping tales. Here, they have gone for a conventional style of storytelling, without much experiment. Still, they have succeeded in keeping the viewer’s interest till the last frame.

But why did Jayaram come in two roles? No one will ever know perhaps! Also, too many characters make it a messy affair. Madhu and Swami could have attempted a more modern style of narration.

New Malayalam Movie Daddy Cool reviews!

Last day the new malayalam movie Daddy Cool released in around 80 theatres all across kerala. The film Daddy Cool features Superstar Mammooty, Biju Meon, master Dhananjay and Bollywood actress Richa Palood in the main cast. Here is a short review on the movie Daddy Cool.

At first i want to say the movie is a watchable and enters an average category due to the lack in strong script. The new Mammootty starrer film Daddy Cool is directed by debutant director Aashiq Abu. Daddy Cool is a hillarious family entertainer, which was produced by Ananya films and distributed by Marikkar films.

I watched the movie on the first day and wanna say that this will be the best movie of Mammooty after AnnanThambi. The new film Daddy Cool is carrying an impressive initial reviews, which will surely help the movie to get into the safer side as early as possible. The best things in the movie are the stylish acting of Mammoty and the super performance of Master Dhananjay. Two songs are also gud.

But while coming to the script part, i have to say that there is no strong story in the movie and most of the characters in the movie like Vijaya Raghavan, Suraj, Sai Kumar and even Richa Pallood has not given any importance. The main focus is on Mammooty and Master Dhananjay(Aadhi). In the acting side, Mammootty as usual has made a descent effort to make his character a notable one. The other notable actors in the film were master Dhananjay, Biju Menon and Daniel Balaji. All others have done their respective jobs very nicely except the heroine Richa Pallod.

The comedy scenes that features Mammooty and his son is superb and even the criticizer will love to see that. The debutant director Aashiq Abu has done good work though his script is weak. Sameer Thahir, the young cinematographer has done his work, has done a great job in the movi and the some scenes in the movie are stylish just like the Amal Neerad movies. Another negative of the movie is the title music which is about 10 minutes long.

This film may appeal to you, if you are a follower of cliched family entertainers and according to me this new movie is a watchable one, that too with your kids. According to me the movie is a watchable one and will become a hit.

Vijay Vettaikaran Set Fire – Rs.3 Cr Loss!

The sets of Vijay-starrer 'Vettaikkaran' was partially gutted in a big fire that broke out on at the AVM studios, Chennai, in the early morning hours Friday.



Friday was not a good day for 'Ilayadhalapathi' Vijay.During the shooting of his new film'Vettaikaran',the set was accidentally damaged by fire.The film was being shot in the AVM Studios and an expensive set, costing around Rs. 3 crores, was erected for the purpose. A few scenes were shot at the sets but then the unfortunate accident occured.With this, the shooting of Vettaikaran has suffered a set back apart from the huge losses incurred by the team.

The film is directed by Babu Sivan and produced by AVM Productions.Vijay's heroine is the sexy hot tamil actress Anushka.The film’s shooting is in progress in the AVM studios at Vadapalani.

More than ten fire trucks came to the spot and fire fighters tried their maximum to control the fire. But the fire spreads to the 6th floor and the set is completely destroyed. After a big struggle the fire fighters brought back the situation in control.In the investigation,it was reported that electrical damage is the cause of the fire.
