There is huge population of non-resident Indian. A non-resident Indian is also called NRI. They are Indian Citizen holding Indian passport, but migrated to another country.
In other words, they are expatriate Indian either working in foreign country or living with their spouses.
World-wide about 30 million Indian or desi are living aboard as NRI or PIO. PIO (person of Indian origin).
Biggest NRI population is in United Arab Emirates – estimated to be around 14 lakhs (1.4 millions) with another million or so in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Bahrain, and other gulf countries.
But the most sort after are desi NRI living in United States and other western countries.
