ELSE?Mobile Comes With A Whole New User Experience

Emblaze Mobile, an Israeli high-tech conglomerate, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the London traded Emblaze Group, has developed and announced their new handset that’s called the ELSE mobile. The device will be running on a new UI called ELSE Intuition and Access Linux Platform (ALP). It’s designed in a touchscreen form. It’s a high-end handset that’s been designed to offer users a ‘unique’ experience that isn’t strictly centered around the ‘Phone’ aspect of the mobile but on each individual function that it’s equipped with. The ELSE handset comes with the TI OMAP 3430 platform. It also features –
  • a 3.5-inch capacitive LCD touchscreen display with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels
  • 3G and EDGE
  • Bluetooth with A2DP
  • 5 megapixel camera
The company’s idea is to beat out the iPhone and it’s competitors like Android by offer the user a more complete experience with its very task-oriented user interface and easy thumb access menu system called One Navigation. They’ve even got plans to start up an online media store with applications as well. There’s no word on the handset’s pricing yet but it’s due officially sometime in 2010.

Corby S3650 Wi-Fi and CDMA Versions on Its Way????

The Samsung Corby has apparently done very well for itself. So much so in fact that Samsung is planning on launching yet another version of the popular Corby S3650 only this time they’re taking the specs up a notch. The latest reports are talking about a Wi-Fi enabled Corby which, in my opinion would do really well as that mode of connectivity is slowly but surely becoming a rather big deal in India.

There’s also been word of Samsung planning on releasing a Corby S3650 for CDMA users as well. Although pricing has not yet been officially announced the CDMA version would probably remain the same but the Wi-Fi edition would boost the price up to the Rs. 10,000 to Rs.11,000 mark. That’s just speculation of course and it’s quite possible it could end up being cheaper. Let’s wait and see. Stay tuned.
