Priyamani, the national-award winning actress for her performance in Ameer’s ‘Paruthiveeran’, has reportedly entered into a verbal duel with co-actress Vimala Raman over who would enjoy the maximum footage in a particular sequence in her Telugu film under production.
The film, which stars Sumanth in the lead and is directed by Vijay, stars the pretty actresses Priyamani and Vimala Raman in the lead. The shooting had been proceeding smoothly till the sequence involving both the actress was canned. Reports say that the moment Vimala entered the set, Priyamani got nervy and started throwing tantrums.
She started asking the director as to how much would be her footage in the film as compared to Vimala. After listening to the director’s version, she started shouting at the director after she came to know that Vimala had a slightly more significant role than her in the climax sequence.
“I’m a national-award winning actress… you just can’t equate me with her. What would you do if I skip the shooting?” she asked to which the director (sarcastically) said that he had ensured that her role in the film was better and more significant than the one she did in star director Maniratnam’s ‘Raavan’.
Vimala, on her part, said that the role of heroine in ‘Paruthiveeran’ was so strong that it would have fetched the actress (whoever it was) the national award.
