Udhayanidhi Stalin says that he did not sleep for two nights after seeing Maina Maina

Maina is a film directed by Prabhu Solomon and produced by Shalom Studios. The whole film was shot in dense forests. Viddarth who is a Koothupattarai artist is doing the lead role in this film. Amala Paul who is now called Anaka is doing the female lead role. The film is being released jointly by Udhayanidhi Stalin under the banner Red Giant Movies and Kalpathi S Agoram under the banner A G S Entertainment. The press meet regarding this was held yesterday.

Udhayanidhi Stalin while speaking on this occasion said,” After seeing Maina, I was not able to sleep for two days. This film has created such an impact in me. That is the reason I have acquired this film.”

Prabhu Solomon while speaking about this film said,” Suruli and Maina are child hood friends. Both of them grow up together. Romance blossoms between the two. The problems they encounter are the one line story of the film.

As per the story we required a village in the valley in Tamil Nadu- Kerala border. After traveling more than 12,000 kms we were able to locate a hill village called Kurangani near Bodi. We shot the film for 68 days in winter, spring, autumn and summer seasons. The audience always have the opinion that village in Tamil cinema will have dry soil, thorn bushes and disturbed tiles in dilapidated houses.

But the village in Maina will not remind the audience of any other Tamil films. There were no basic amenities for the shooting. We have to carry the camera and other equipments on mules. Since it was not feasible to bring the generator we shot the whole film in natural light. The story journeys from Kurangani and ends up in Periyakulam via Munnar, Pooparai, Mundhal, Bodi and Theni. Audience after seeing the film will say that they have been to a different place for the last two and half hours.”

Producers John Max, Kalpathi S Agoram, cinematographers Sugumaran, Jeevan and music composer participated in this event. A G S’s CEO Rangarajan thanked all the guests.
