Summer is the biggest season to release films worldwide. The box-office normally booms during this period, as it is holidays for students and family audiences make a bee line to the theatres. Kollywood biggies lined up for the summer of 2010 looks interesting.
Some of the biggies due for the summer months of April, May, June are- Vijay’s Sura, Suriya’s Singam, Vikram’s Raavan, Jayam Ravi’s Thilalangadi, Karthi’s Paiyya, Arya’s Madras Pattinam, Jiiva’s Kacheri Arambam, Chimbudevan’s cowboy caper Irumbukottai Murattu Singam.
Plus 25 other medium and small films are also looking to cash in on the summer season. Who knows one of them might turn out to be a sleeper hit? Please note films like Subramaniapuram and Pasanga have humbled bigger releases during earlier summer times.
Here is a tentative release schedule. The below-mentioned release dates have been given by the producers and distributors of these films. At times, the films get postponed for various reasons, so nothing is final.
Mar 26 – Paiyya & Kacheri Arambam
April 2- Irumbukottai Murattu Singam
April 14- Sura
April 30- Thilalangadi
May 7- Singam
May 21- Madras Pattinam
June 18- Raavan
