Kieron Pollard goes to Mumbai Indians

The players’ auction for the third edition of the Indian Premier League has begun in Mumbai. The auction started with a surprise as Pakistani all rounder Shahid Afridi who was put up on base price of $ 2,50,000 found no buyer in the first round.
After this West Indies all rounder Kieron Pollard was bought by Mumbai Indians after a secret bidding as their was a tie-breaker at 7,50,000 between Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and Bangalore.
Then South Africa's all rounder Wayne Parnell was sold to Delhi Daredevils $6,10,000.
There are 67 players on the auction list, with 12 slots to be filled among the eight franchisees at the time of going to press. All teams will have a prize purse of $7,50,000 (Rs 3.4 crore).
After this season, all players will be re-auctioned, though modalities are being worked out to ensure that teams can retain some of their players
